Scholarships

BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING ELSE:
Make sure that you have read Colorado College's policies about financial aid transferral to off-campus study, so that you understand what already may be covered, and what you may need to find from external sources. Completing the current Cost & Aid Calculation Worksheet linked on that page is a vital tool to help you figure out what the total cost of your program will be.

THE FIVE FUNDING STEPS:
STEP ONE: Start early - some scholarship and funding deadlines can be up to a year in advance of when you plan to study off-campus.

STEP TWO: Colorado College's Financial Aid Office is a resource for students who receive financial aid currently, or wish to inquire about how off-campus study can be made more affordable.

STEP THREE: Program providers (like IES, IFSA, DIS, etc) often have a wide range of innovative and generous scholarship and funding options, both need and merit based. Make sure to apply for these, and pay attention to deadlines!

STEP FOUR: All students should see if their major department at CC may offer grants or funding.

STEP FIVE:  In addition, a searchable database of international scholarships can be found at IEFA (International Education Financial Aid Directory): http://www.iefa.org/, and both GoOverseas and StudyAbroad.com have listings of many scholarships.
A passport is the first step to studying abroad! If you do not have a passport, are seeking to obtain your first passport, and receive need-based financial aid at CC, you may apply for an Academic Opportunities Grant to cover the cost.
